We’re designing enterprise solutions for architecture, engineering, and construction professionals to connect the physical and digital worlds while making real-time 3D data accessible to all along the way.
We believe the best scanning hardware is what you already have in your pocket, and the best enterprise data is easily shareable, interoperable, and useful.
Jim and Andy met on Twitter in March 2020, under lockdown and tweeting about the new iPad Pro. Andy had recently left a job at an aerospace conglomerate and was ready to return to his startup roots. Jim had recently developed a novel mobile 3D surface scanning product for radiation oncology and was looking for his next challenge.
While working at the drone 3D mapping startup, DroneDeploy, Andy had explored all sorts of solutions for interior reality capture in construction (drones don’t work well indoors just yet) but nothing fit the bill. 3 years later, it was finally looking like this was about to change. More and more Android phones where shipping with rear-facing depth sensors and 6D.ai was proving that mobile processors could handle real-time 3D reconstruction.
With iPad Pro in hand, we quickly realized Apple’s latest processors and LiDAR sensor could turn mobile scanning from an academic novelty into an enterprise-ready tool. We knew we had to be part of making this happen with SiteScape.
